Look how little and tiny. Compared to the vastness of our couch Mabel still looks like the smallest of smalls.
When I opened this picture this morning I thought to myself...
'I wonder how many people feel that way about themselves?'
Like you are so little and tiny. The smallest of smalls to our large God.
Like you are sinking in the pit that is the world around you.
Like God can't possibly listen to little ol' you.
I've been there.
I've been there.
I have felt that way a time or two.
But then God showed Himself. He proved Himself a God who cares for one.
One tiny, insignificant me.
That is what I love about Jesus and a relationship with Him and what I despise about religion.
Religion would tell you that the Lord cares for you if....
if you are at church on Sunday.
if you go to confession.
if you are good.
if you follow the rules.
if. if. if. if. if.
A relationship with Jesus shows you that the Lord cares for you because...
He shows up.
...with little ol' you.
Wouldn't you much rather be shown the Lord cares than told?
Wouldn't you much rather be allowed to live outside of the box that is religion?
Wouldn't you much rather feel significant than insignificant?
Because loving God and walking with Him no longer makes me feel tiny or small.
It makes me feel powerful, wise, strong, passionate and loved.
I found these verses last night and LOVED reading them. In just a few short sentences, look at all of who God is to us.
"I will love you, O God my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies...
...For you will light my lamp. The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. You have also given me the shield of your salvation, your right hand has held me up. Your gentleness has made me great."
Psalm 18:1-3, 28 & 35
I don't know about you but when I read that today, there is nothing that makes me feel insignificant. It makes me realize that we serve a personal God. A Lord who cares about little ol' me and who would do anything to provide for and take care of me. I pray that when you see this today you will understand the greatness of His love for you. He has the ability and desire to make you great!
