There is something to be said about the smell of a newborn baby. It's as if I smell her and fall into this place of bliss that is uncontrollable. In fact, that is how I feel just about every minute I look into her eyes... I remember being very honest with everyone in the last few weeks about my fears and anxieties concerning bringing home a new baby. All of those fears quickly melted away at the sight of her. I held her close, breathed her in and realized that all was exactly how it was supposed to be. We needed her all along. She fits perfectly here with us.
I was afraid that I wouldn't bond with her. It was a normal fear, considering it took so long with Braden. But immediately I sensed this connection with her that I haven't felt yet. It was so strong and unique. It is incredible.

I feared how the children would respond to their new sister. This too was a normal fear. However, they have exceeded my expectations! We are seeing some behavior changes but overall, they are doing fantastic. We are praying and being very conscience of their needs during this transition time. Nora's feelings are getting hurt a little more easily and Braden's fits have gotten a little more aggressive. This is typical of their behavior and the extremes that we knew would come because of their personalities. We were prepared and I am incredibly proud of the redheads! They sure do love their sister!!!

I was afraid of how Daniel would adjust to being a dad of 3. He's a great dad but I was just curious to see how he would do; as I was curious about myself as well. He is absolutely amazing and so in love with this little girl. He is being patient with the kids and helping me in ways that I need and desire. He has no idea how wonderful it is to feel his support. I have definitely fallen deeper in love with him than I even knew I could. It's pretty awesome, I must say.

We took Mabel to the Dr. today for her newborn check-up. She has lost a little weight so we are going back tomorrow to make sure she gains a couple ounces. Basically instead of letting her sleep all night, I have to wake her every 2 hours to squeeze in a feeding. They aren't concerned--other than that, she looks great! She is a happy, content and big-eyed girl!

As for me?
I'm feeling great! Better than I probably should. I have to be reminded to sit, nap or relax because I feel so good. I will be posting Mabel's birth story soon and you'll see why I feel so great! It truly was an amazing experience.

Thanks for thinking of us and loving on our family the last few days. We are overwhelmed by the amount of people who love us! Our hearts are so full they could explode and to be able to share that joy with you all is such a blessing!!!

Please by praying for Becky. She is in the hospital due to have baby Liam at any time today. I'll post an update when I have one. I know she'll appreciate your prayers!
Have A Happy Tuesday, friends.
