Moms say the darndest things!

This weekend we got to watch Uncle Jake show horses in his 4-H show. For the 2nd year in a row, he won Jr. High Point. He was pretty proud and we were proud of him! He's so handsome!!!

Do you find yourself saying crazy things to your children during the day and later thinking, 'Did I really just say that out loud?' I constantly hear myself and laugh. This is my life. It consists of saying things like...

"Get that collar off of your brother's neck! Because he is not a dog, thats why!"

"Stop scratching your butt with that toothbrush, buddy. I know it itches but you cannot use that to scratch it!"
"Do not climb that fridge door again, young man!"

"You cannot ride your brother, Nora. He's too little.
And you ...cannot bite your sister. You are NOT a lion; you are Braden."

"No, horses don't eat their own poop, baby. Heidi eats poop but Heidi isn't quite right, that's why she does that. We need to just ignore her."
"Did you really just eat that bug? You did? Was it good; are you gonna do that again?"

"Please go play with your brother! That's why I had him!"

"Stop licking me. I am not to be licked again, do you hear me?"
--------------------------------------------------
And those are just things I've said in the last day. This life of mine is so joyful and funny.
I got to go to Bible study last night which was the first time in a long time. It was refreshing to be in a room with other Christian women, hear a little of the Word but mostly just talk. I needed that and the Lord knew it. I feel new today.

I have been taking some pictures here and there and it's going well. They are all turning out really great and I enjoy it so much. I mostly enjoy the interaction with people. Getting to capture them in a moment that they least expect. Time slips away too quickly and if we can freeze it in any way, it's absolutely crucial that we do so.

8 days from today I will be holding our new baby girl. I tossed and turned all night last night after having good contractions through most of the evening. I woke up having some but not enough to convince me that I needed to leave my redheads and head to the hospital. I am so uncomfortable but am plugging along, trying to stay busy and focused on what needs to get done here at home.
This is such a blessed and exciting time in my life, I just can't put it all into words.

So that's about it. Alot of here and there. We have a fairly calm week ahead of us and then we know that life will become, once again, a little chaotic and new. We are preparing for this beautiful change and I truly feel like we are ready for the shift. I can see the excitement in Daniel's eyes and as I watch him intently, I cannot fathom how I am blessed yet again to have one of his children. This journey is my life's purpose and I am devoted to enjoying every part of it.
And sharing it.
So thanks for always being willing to embrace it with me.
I love you all.

I know I've never met Jake in person but having known you for the past 5+ years and knowing your family through pictures, I cant believe how grown and what a handsome young man he has become!
