there's a peace I've come to know...

..whew! we are tired after our big weekend...
we were busy making a scarecrow that the redheads named daddy. here Nora is stuffing his head...
...and stuffing his body...
AND HERE HE IS:
Daddy, the scarecrow.
And we are tired from having company in our home all weekend! Not tired in a bad way. In fact, completely the opposite. Tired in a great way! We got to visit with Ryan and Jessy but besides that, we got to cuddle this precious lady all weekend...
Sophia will be 3 months old on Wednesday and we finally got to see her. Not only did we get to see her, we got to smell her, hold her, make her laugh and occasionally cry. I didnt mind. I can handle a crying baby (as you all know). What I liked most of all was just being able to look at her face.
I mean, who wouldn't? She's pretty much the greatest...
Ryan and Jessy brought their dog, Sydney who is slightly bigger than Heidi. Our little wiener dog got quite protective of her daddy (which I might have thought was precious)

Braden took to Syd quite well also. In fact, he woke up today asking for her...
...and he only rode her 3 times. Not so bad...
Braden had a blue sucker...
...and took to Ryan quite well...

my guy looks like a baby belongs in his arms. it's just natural.
I think he adores her♥
Sydney had fun with the kids too! Chasing and playing, chasing and playing...

I know, Sophia. I'd cry too. He's not so bad. Really, he's not.

Some friendships come easily. Our friendship with Ryan and Jessy comes so very natural for us. They walked in our house on Saturday evening and made their selves at home. In fact, it felt like they were home. I know that this is a lasting friendship, one that will grow and change, yet remain faithful and a strong comfort to us. Sophia really blessed me this weekend and I am so excited to be a part of her life. To watch her grow, and to pray over her life excites me! I feel a peace when I am with them. It is a friendship that is anointed of God which seems rare. However, lately I have come to realize by looking around that I am blessed beyond measure with people who love us as much as we care for them. People who love and care about our children as if they were their own. I am so thankful to God for these gifts in my life. I could never give thanks enough for the magnitude of joy in my life.

We have had a busy couple of weeks and it's not about to slow down anytime soon. We have the Halloween party this weekend and Abby will be having miss Scarlet anytime. Life is busy yet joyful. Peaceful. Surreal. I am taking it all in. Taking it all in stride, knowing that these are truly the best days of my life. These moments with friends, these scarecrow moments with babies. This is what my life is. This is what it's all about. And it's amazing.
This madness around me is the peace I've come to know.

I love it. I absolutely loved this post. We think a lot the same. It really is about these moments right now when our families are so young. We have a set of close friends, just like the kind you have. I feel very blessed indeed, as I know not every couple can say that.
Thanks for sharing your blessings!
