I wrote a post not long ago on how our God cannot be exhausted. It was refreshing for me to write it, knowing that no matter what needs we take to the Lord, He cannot grow weary. He is unchangeable, unshakable and steadfast. He is Holy. And in saying that, we cannot even fathom the depth of who He is.
In reading my Crazy Love book, I came across a couple of paragraphs that really stuck out to me in the first chapter. I must have needed to understand it today because the Holy Spirit was just speaking to me in such an awesome way.
In everything that we know about God (that He is love, He forgives, He cannot lie, etc)-the author was trying to explain that no matter what we think about Him in our human minds, God cannot be exaggerated. This speaks volumes to my heart. It is profound thinking to try and comprehend that no matter what great and wonderful things we say or think about our King, He is greater. He is mightier. He is Holier. He is more powerful, more beautiful, more loving, more gentle, more firm, more merciful, more graceful. We can never fathom the depths and heights to which His name is stretched.
I love this thought in the book
"God is eternal....
...Each of us had a beginning; everything in existence began on a particular day, at a specific time. Everything, that is, but God. He always has been, since before there was an earth, a universe or even angels. God exists outside of time, and since we are within time, there is no way we will ever totally grasp that concept."
The above statement sums it up in my mind. No matter how hard I think, pray or try-I will never fully understand the greatness of God. Never.
...and in a way, that is refreshing. I cannot ever grasp Him in all of His glory, and so I can relax. Stop trying. And just enjoy Him for who He is in my life. And for that I am incredibly thankful. He is beautiful--that I know for sure.
I have taken a few days off from blogging.
We have been busy enjoying each other, going to festivals, playing and loving. I have pictures to share over the next few days, and decided to spread it out so I can share some thoughts and stories God has laid upon my heart.
For now, I wanted to share some of our fall decorations! If you have read this blog for even one second-you understand that this is, by far, my favorite time of year! Enjoy.
